I saw many postings regarding this after mine seemed to be “stuck” at 99%. I gave it about 30 minutes total and it starting moving again and it finished the install successfully.
KDE 64 bit, Studio 16 XPS Dell Laptop, VMware Player

You can open a teminal window and run : watch ‘df -h’ to see if the copying is still going on…

thanks for this, I thought it was dead.
I left it a bit longer after reading this and it started doing its thang again
