This is how to get Airlink 101 – AWLL3026 USB wireless working under backtrack 4.  I actually used a Virtual backtrack 4 for this and it worked just fine.

Download and extract the contents of this file:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/zd1211/files/latest

To this location:

/lib/firmware/zd1211

Note that you may need to create the directory zd1211.  (I did)

mkdir /lib/firmware/zd1211

This will resolve this error, which is what I was getting.
