How to Fix – Starting httpd: httpd: Could not determine the server’s fully qualified domain name, using x.x.x.x for ServerName

If you get this error everytime apache starts you should take this action.  I had a default install of ISPConfig and had this issue.

Edit /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf and httpd.conf1
# added servername to avoid the could not determine fully qualified domain name

servername host.domain.com

For example :

servername www.highlogic.net

ISPConfig Version: 3.0.2.2 – Running in the Cloud!

I put my first cloud server online tonight. Its up and running with ISPConfig Version 3.0.2.2. I used the perfect server config for Fedora 13 however there was an extra 1-2 hours troubleshooting and fixing things that simply did not work even after following the instructions “perfectly”. I do appreciate having the documentation out there, it just needs a little work and a few blanks filled in. It seems others ran into the same issues with Amavis, bind, etc. I will be posting some edits on how I was able to get it working.
